Patent reform needs more work, says GAO report

A Government Accountability Office report says the U.S. patent system needs improvement and recommends that broad patent applications be denied and uniform definitions on software terminology be implemented. "We see this report as a sign that legislation is needed. [The patent troll] issue is hurting businesses of all sizes across the country, and it's hurting jobs," said Michael Beckerman, CEO of the Internet Association, which represents tech vendors.
