Vocal opponents and legislative obstacles to hydraulic fracturing in some areas are threatening the economic gains from shale gas, this article says. There is now a movement to block fracking in New Jersey, while New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has promised a long-awaited decision on fracking in his state by the 2014 election.
