S.C. school, technical college partner for STEM program

Eighth-graders from Midland Valley Preparatory Charter School in Aiken, S.C., will spend three hours a week at nearby Aiken Technical College as part of a pilot STEM Academy program. "The STEM Academy is designed to help eighth-grade students gain an understanding of how STEM concepts are applied in a variety of career settings, and to open their eyes to potential career opportunities that they may not have previously considered," said Susan Winsor, president of Aiken Technical College.
