Steak 'n Shake franchisees take price concerns to court

Three Steak 'n Shake franchisee groups have filed federal lawsuits against the company, alleging that the rule requiring all units to offer $4 meals hurts their profitability. High-profile and oft-combative CEO Sardar Biglari angered franchisees three years ago when he ruled that the company would set the menu and the prices for all items and that all stores would be required to offer the "4 Meals Under $4 promotion."
