Study: Fla., N.Y. cities are among places with greatest flood risk

Miami, the New York City-Newark, N.J., area and New Orleans are among 10 cities worldwide that face the greatest risk of coastal flooding, according to a study by the journal Nature Climate Change. Flood losses worldwide could reach $52 billion by 2050 because of socioeconomic changes, and flood damage could increase by 20% because of sea-level increase and tectonic activity, the study says.
