Why American Eagle used social media to put "real people" up front

To set itself apart from other denim-clothing and teen retailers, American Eagle Outfitters launched a social media campaign focusing on putting "real people" at the center of its brand. The key to running the campaign successfully was to take the time to get to know customers, and to showcase their images, stories and individual styles, marketing manager Jamie Simoni says.
