Dell exec: CMOs should play "active role" in protecting data

Customer data is the "the single most important asset" available to chief marketing officers, who in turn "should be taking a much more active role" in making sure it remains secure, says Dell CMO Karen Quintos. "Frankly, every time you click on something that is sent to you as a customer, that is being generated by someone in marketing. Marketing is the organization that is at the forefront of all of this," she says.
