Iowa students recognized for food-waste projects

Students from Johnson County, Iowa, recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to be recognized by the President's Environmental Youth Award program for their work with food composting projects in the Iowa City area. The students conducted organic waste audits at schools and restaurants to help cut down on waste and worked with Iowa lawmakers on legislation that addresses food waste concerns in their state.
