Skills students should learn in the first week of school

As the new school year gets underway, Alan November, a former teacher turned author and lecturer, recommends four skills that teachers should impart the first five days of school to set students up for success the rest of the year. Among other ideas, he suggests teachers showcase how they learn and demonstrate how they use social media tools, such as Twitter, to connect with people worldwide.
