Health officials reveal two new norovirus strains

The CDC has confirmed the presence of two new strains of norovirus, a group of viruses that cause gastroenteritis, from more than 1,300 outbreaks reported across 24 U.S. states in 2006. The virus is particularly dangerous for the very old, the frail and the very young and is responsible for the death of at least one woman last year.
