Linking RFID, bar codes could improve adoption

A combination of bar code technology and RFID may help hospitals to reap the benefits of RFID and provide a proven return on investment, according to a new report. RFID systems have recognized advantages for tracking patients and equipment and administering drugs accurately, but hospitals have been slow to purchase the technology due to its high initial costs.
