Delta to increase flight attendant numbers to support growth

With traffic on the rise, Delta Air Lines says it will recall flight attendants furloughed during the downturn as well as add an unspecified number of new workers. "We need lots of folks with language skills, given the extensive nature of our international network and the need to be able to communicate with passengers in their own language," CEO Richard Anderson said in a recorded message to employees. Training probably will begin in January, he said.
