FAA tests aviation fuel from Swift Enterprises

The Federal Aviation Administration is testing a fuel produced by Swift Enterprises as an alternative to 100LL. The FAA tested the fuel, which can be produced from renewable sources, in a Lycoming IO-540 and other piston engines. According to Swift co-founder Mary-Louise Rusek, the FAA determined the fuel has an octane equivalent of 102 in the tests.
