Hospitals in India feel effects of isotope shortage

Hospitals in India are feeling the strain brought on by the shortage in medical isotopes. They are being charged three to four times higher than the usual price for isotopes coming from Holland, France and South Africa. "If this shortage continues, scans and X-rays will definitely become more expensive," a doctor said.
