Max & Erma's buyer brings experienced team to the table

The Denver-based company set to take control of the Max & Erma's chain at the end of the month includes former Carl's Jr. and Hardee's CEO William Foley and Hazem Ouf, who led the reorganization of several bankrupt chains, including Village Inn. The company, American Blue Ribbon Holdings, has agreed to buy the chain out of bankruptcy court for about $28 million, in a deal expected to close on Aug. 31.
