After 15 weeks, regulators still can't determine with certainty what caused the "flash crash" that sent the stock market plunging May 6. Independent researchers offer a wide range of theories, including computer-assisted market manipulation for profit and a financial version of cyberwarfare. Others suspect stock exchange computers couldn't keep up with all of the data they were getting.
