Some Texas teachers face new, stricter social-media policies

As the school year begins in Texas, some districts are updating their policies on the use of social media by teachers and students. A few say they allow students and teachers to communicate via Facebook and texting as long as the topics have to do with school or extra-curricular activities. In the Mansfield district, teachers must create a professional social-media page -- separate from a private account -- to communicate with students.
