Every dog needs exercise to keep them physically healthy and prevent the boredom that can bring on destructive behavior, writes veterinarian Marty Becker. The amount of exercise a dog requires varies by shape, size and breed, and activities including walks, bike rides, games of fetch or play dates at the dog park will meet the exercise needs of most dogs, he writes.
