Credit crisis continues to plague Europe

The global credit crisis started four years ago, yet European lenders remain dependent on aid from central banks. Emergency measures were implemented to keep banks solvent in troubled nations, including Greece, Italy and Spain, and borrowing costs are being contained by low interest rates. However, signs of distress continue to mount, raising concerns not only in Europe but also worldwide.
