New Zealand-based biofuel firm teams up with U.S. catalyst provider

New Zealand-based biofuel developer Aquaflow Bionomic has signed a deal with U.S.-based CRI Catalyst, which supplies catalysts and process technology for the renewable-energy industry. The companies hope to set up a pilot-scale biofuel plant, most likely in the U.S., Aquaflow said. The plant is expected to use about 100 metric tons per day of biomass to produce renewable gasoline, hydrocarbon blendstocks and other products, said Paul Dorrington, chief technical officer of Aquaflow.
