Obesity costs vary among states, study finds

The annual obesity-related medical costs per state range from $203 million in Wyoming to $15.2 billion in California, a study in the journal Obesity found. Obesity also accounts for at least 10% of health costs in several states including Alabama, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia, researchers from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality said.
