7 schools in Fla. district participate in digital pilot program

Officials in the Orange County, Fla., school district are distributing devices, including MacBook Air laptops and iPads, to students at seven schools participating in a digital pilot program. The initiative is expected to cost about $13.8 million, including expenses related to training, infrastructure upgrades and insurance for the devices, but officials say they will not be able to expand the program to other schools in the district without additional funds.
