Group calls for flexibility on MU penalties

The Medical Group Management Association has called on the HHS to defer imposing penalties on physicians who successfully completed stage 1 meaningful use requirements, stating that they "will be unfairly subject to negative Medicare payment adjustments." The group has also asked HHS to reconsider the policy requiring use of certified vendors for rural providers and to extend the time frame for reporting of stage 2 progress.
