Project-based learning is at the heart of New Technology High School in Sioux Falls, S.D., where enrollment has tripled since the school opened four years ago and visitors come to observe the model that requires students to work together and helps them build real-world skills. "This school is unbelievable, unbelievable. I've said it once; I've said it a million times. I've never seen a model of education effective and powerful as this," said Jason Currie-Olson, who with another instructor teaches a class that combines composition, literature, American film and American history.
