Trading venues reportedly struggle to get licenses

New exchanges and swap-execution facilities are struggling to obtain licenses from Markit Group, sources say. Market participants say the licensing process continues to be used to hinder competition in the credit default swaps market. However, a Markit representative wrote in an e-mail that the company is in discussions with multiple SEFs about licenses. "Any Sef can licence from Markit," according to the e-mail.
