Obesity's link to cancer weighs heavily on minds of health experts

The nation's ever-expanding obesity rate has sparked discussion about increased risk for diabetes and heart disease, but health experts also are concerned about obesity's role in heightening the risk for at least nine types of cancer. With obesity making it more difficult to spot tumors early and determine the best chemotherapy dose, chances of survival from cancer drop; a recent study concluded excess weight played a role in 14% to 20% of all cancer deaths.
