Charter school halts Hebrew lessons

A day after vowing to continue teaching students Hebrew despite a school board ban, leaders of the Ben Gamla Charter School agreed Thursday to suspend lessons, so as to avoid an adversarial relationship with the board. In its first week of operation, the Hebrew charter school recently presented its curriculum to the board for a third time, but a board member indicated it may again be rejected because of its religious tenor.
