Roche gets EU nod for Avastin

The European Union will allow Avastin to be sold in the region for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer, Roche Holding AG announced. The drug, which was developed by Roche with Genentech, will be used in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy. Genentech has also reapplied with the FDA seeking approval for the drug's use in treating breast cancer.
