Study: Calcium reduces bone fracture risk

A new study shows that calcium supplements, taken alone or with vitamin D, can reduce the risk of fractures in elderly adults by as much as 12%. Researchers say the results offer strong support for a low-cost, easy-access way to prevent fractures and bone loss caused by osteoporosis.
