Australia's broadband network is frozen after election issues flare up

Election issues in the Australian parliament have put on hold plans, such as hiring and funding, for a fiber-optic broadband network. In a statement, NBN, the company hired to build the network, said it will continue to operate with existing resources, though no additional significant contracts will be awarded until the parliament issues have been resolved.
