Cablevision to offer customized local ads in the fourth quarter

Cablevision Systems in the fourth quarter is expected to begin allowing advertisers to deliver customized local ads to the cable provider's nearly 3 million digital customers in the New York area. Cablevision, which is working with targeted-advertising startup Visible World on the system, said the technology enables advertisers to prepare up to five different spots and then deliver the one that best fits based on certain demographic criteria.
