Economic doubts keep airline fares in a holding pattern

Though domestic airline fares are 16% to 20% higher than last year, airfare expert Rick Seaney says airlines are showing restraint in raising fares due to doubts about the strength of the economic recovery. Even though capacity is down and demand is up, "with the economy the way it is and so uncertain, the airlines are just going to stand pat right now and see how things go," Seaney says.
