Herpes drugs are safe to take during early pregnancy, a study finds

Pregnant women who took certain antiviral treatments for herpes during the first trimester did not increase their child's risk of birth defects, Danish researchers reported. The study involved 800,000 infants born to women who were exposed to acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir within the first three months of pregnancy.
