Indiana education leader calls for revised teacher evaluations

Indiana schools chief Tony Bennett is proposing that teacher evaluations be linked to student performance. "We must have a meaningful system for evaluating teachers and building administrators, one that makes year-to-year growth in student achievement the most important factor in determining effectiveness," Bennett said during the state's first State of Education speech Monday. The president of the Indiana State Teachers Association said any evaluation system should treat educators equitably.
