Poll respondents: Drugmakers influence doctors' prescribing behavior

A Consumer Reports poll reveals that 69% of 1,150 adults who use prescription medicines think drug companies are too big a factor in a physician's prescribing decision. The majority of those surveyed are also concerned about drug safety and doctors' conflicts of interest. More than 40% also believe doctors prescribed more expensive brand-name drugs than cheaper alternatives.
