Vornado faces opposition over proposed New York skyscraper

The owners of the Empire State Building do not want to see Vornado Realty Trust to build its proposed 1,216-foot-tall tower on 34th Street -- which happens to be two avenues to the west of the famous New York skyscraper. The matter is going to be voted on by the City Council on Wednesday. "The question here is: How close is too close to one of New York's iconic landmarks," Councilman Daniel Garodnick says.
