Analysis: Thomas' influence on Supreme Court is often unnoticed

Criticism that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas received this year for failing to disclose his wife's work at the Heritage Foundation has masked the fact that Thomas has actually had a triumphant year, writes Jeffrey Toobin. Many of Thomas' long-held conservative views received "vindication" as several high-court rulings showed that the rest of Supreme Court philosophically has shifted closer to Thomas, Toobin writes. The biggest test of Thomas' influence will come when the Supreme Court rules on the constitutionality of the national health care law, Toobin notes.
