California city officials drop quickservice eatery ban idea

The city council in Loma Linda, Calif., opted not to pursue a ban on new quickservice eateries in the city limits after an hourlong discussion this week. Residents of the health-conscious town prompted the discussion when they raised objections to a proposed new McDonald's.
