Still, Apple's board had plenty of time to develop a succession strategy, and as chairman, Steve Jobs will be on hand to ensure that nothing tarnishes his legacy. "Jobs knows that he will be judged on this -- and I'm quietly confident that he's done it perfectly," writes Felix Salmon.
