Berry wines may hold diabetes potential, study finds

Blueberry-blackberry blend wines contain a compound that may help lower blood glucose levels by blocking enzymes that regulate carbohydrate absorption in the blood, a study found. Researchers found one of the two carb-blocking enzymes had an efficacy nearly similar to a commonly prescribed diabetes drug, while the other fared better than the drug. The results appear in the Journal of Food Science.
