Meet the man who invented popcorn chicken

Eugene Gagliardi, the inventor of Steak-Umm and popcorn chicken, is 82 years old, but he's still trying to find innovative ways of packaging and serving meat products. Though purportedly retired, Gagliardi spends his days in his garage hacking away at chicken carcasses in the hopes of stumbling across patentable new processes. "We tend to think of innovation as being all about high-technology. But at its core, innovation means coming up with new, useful ideas," writes Jacob Goldstein.
