New York City skyscaper hopes to soar to platinum level of green construction

Ground has been broken on a New York City skyscraper that is aiming to receive the United States Green Building Council's coveted platinum certification -- the highest achievement in a four-tier system of environmentally sound building. Only a handful of buildings have been platinum-certified, and the 52-story skyscraper, being built by The Durst Organization and Bank of America, hopes to be the first high-rise office building to receive the rating.
