European airports charging 4% more, study finds

Led by London Heathrow and Gatwick, published charges at Europe's 50 busiest airports have increased nearly 4% since 2007, according to figures from RDC Aviation. Security costs and new EU regulations are causing passenger costs to rise more quickly than aircraft-related charges. Charges for international flights rose 3% to 3.6% depending on aircraft type, while small aircraft on domestic routes saw charges increase by more than 9%.
