Expert outlines business potential of teleradiology

Teleradiology can help address the shortage of radiologists needed to administer imaging procedures, but the technology also demands that certain technical and business requirements be met, said Dr. Katherine Andriole of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, Andriole cited several areas to consider in providing teleradiology services, including risk management, data security and patient confidentiality.
