Former IMF economist wants disaster insurance for banks

Disaster insurance may help banks in a future financial crisis, according to a paper presented at the economic symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyo., by Raghuram Rajan, a former chief economist for the International Monetary Fund, and two co-authors. Such a move would limit costs for taxpayers and the economy, according to the paper.
