Virtual care system keeps track of patients

Boston Medical Center researchers are developing a telephone-based system that provides virtual care for patients and aims to catch potential health problems early. The system uses voice recognition and interactive voice response technologies to call patients -- or answer their calls -- and check on missed appointments, get blood pressure readings or weight measurements, and follow-up on diet, exercise and medication plans.
