Washington state to test PHR use:

Three communities in Washington state will share $1.7 million in grant funding to pilot the use of consumer-directed health care records using Google Health and Microsoft HealthVault to see if they are useful and feasible. Currently, most of a medical history is in a variety of locations and it is difficult to see a whole history. "Making health information available online to patients, families, caregivers and health consumers is a critical step toward a more streamlined health care system," said the CEO of one of the participating facilities.
