Women express more interest in "extended cycle" contraception

A recent national survey found more than two-thirds of women said they were interested in suppressing monthly menstrual bleeding using "extended cycle" or "continuous" oral contraceptives, though some women expressed concerns about the safety of such a regimen. Officials with the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, which conducted the survey, say interest is rising even among younger women.
