Pilots approve strike vote at Hawaiian

Pilots at Hawaiian Airlines have authorized a strike vote against the carrier, with results due by Sept. 10. The pilots' current contract was ratified four years ago while Hawaiian was in bankruptcy, and their union says the airline should offer more now, in light of its "outstanding financial performance." An airline spokesperson says "progress is being made" in negotiations, and planned information picketing by the union will have "no effect on our operations."
