Stimulus funds pay for New Orleans infrastructure

More than $3.3 billion in federal stimulus funds will go towards extensive construction and infrastructure rebuilding in Louisiana, Vice President Joe Biden said. He noted that the funds are discretionary and are intended to pay for projects in parts of the U.S. that most need infrastructure improvements. Much of the work will be done in hurricane-devastated New Orleans. The package will fund 22 highway and transit projects in Orleans Parish, for example.
